Deep beneath a museum, inside a former bank vault, we collaborated with 5000 Sound to transform an unusual gallery space (with sculpture works by Masako Miki on view) into a program that brought together fashion, sound, and spatial storytelling.
5000, is a fashion label influenced by technology, tailoring, and personal mythology. Designer Taylor Thompson, an Oakland native, is a CFDA Fashion Fund finalist and currently the inaugural Paul Smith Foundation designer-in-residence.
For ELSEWHERE, a fashion and gift experience we produced last year at the Institute of Contemporary Art San Francisco, 5000 took over "The Vault" with a music program curated by Jess Makhlin (@m.ish.ka). On speakers from Western Acoustics. Alongside 5000's ready-to-wear.
You can now watch the live recorded performance with Olive Kimoto, whose live water droplets were part of a set that moved through somatic rhythms, floating synths, left field sounds, and enchanting soundscapes.
