light Eau De Parfum (30ml)
- Description
Neandertal ‘light’ perfume is a collaboration between artist Kentaro Yamada and perfumer Chris Maurice—an artistic response to ontological questions and the history of mankind.
Each bottle shape originates from a real flint-knapped stone from Norfolk, UK. Flint knapping was a technology developed by mankind over a million years and it is arguably the oldest technological and design object used by mankind. The glass bottles are created using laser 3D scanning and printing technology.

About Neandertal ‘light’
A stark contrast to Neandertal ‘dark’, this perfume is a journey which explores concepts of olfactory dissonance. Radiant and expansive, ‘light’ concentrates on the present and as such, possesses a linear and harmonious structure.
Hinoki oil is expanded with muted green notes creating a horizontal landscape, an olfactory still-life representation of nature.
The binding quality of orris gives it rigidity, form and cohesiveness within the structure. This binding quality produces a powerful force, encapsulating time and space around us.
Leather and ambergris add unparalleled natural beauty and familiarity, displaying both power and magnetism.
A contemporary portrait of the Neandertal mystery, this fragrance captures a suspended snapshot of time.
Top note: Hinoki, coriander, galbanum, violet leaf
Heart note: Orris, metallic accord
Base note: Ambergris, patchouli, leather, cedar, musk
