Hosted at Two Two in Oakland, KkCo’s SS26 collection Natural Technology was presented alongside a multi-sensory installation by creative duo Laviena & Echev. The weekend-long event featured a soundtrack by groundislava and rock-inspired bites by Liza Meza.
Despite being over 60 miles north of the Portola Redwoods, at Two Two visitors could experience the ecosystem that inspired the collection. Carved rock speakers played field recordings captured by artists Alexey Seliverstov and Tata Vislevskaya, while metal booklets displayed imagery from the collection’s campaign. Moss, forest objects, the scent of damp soil, and an assortment of edible rock-shaped treats by Liza Meza transformed the store into an immersive evocation of the forest.
The collection draws from the relationship between the Redwoods and the neighboring cities of the Bay Area, pairing organic fibers with recycled nylon, soft palettes with metal hardware, and primitive silhouettes with synthetic forms.
