Renata Brenha's latest collection draws inspiration from Brazil's Festa de Iemanjá—honoring the water goddess, the deity of the ocean. Vintage tablecloths and curtains are transformed into lacy garments reminiscent of Festa de Iemanjá attire and discarded football jerseys become frilly, high-fashion garments, subverting its association with sports. Brenha also repurposes vintage beach towels with meticulous craftsmanship.
The Spring/Summer 2024 collection centers on the healing spirit of Iemanjá's waters and adheres to the Gambiarra ethos, which they creatively utilize upcycled materials. The brand also incorporates sustainable materials like recycled silky cupro and metallic nylon to evoke the water theme.
